Warsaw. Wine Tasting Kontakt Wino & Bistro “maceration”

The 3rd meeting of the Terroirist Club hosted by Piotr Pietras MS was held on 28th of September at Kontakt Wino & Bistro. Under the theme of maceration, we tasted 9 expressive, diverse orange wines of varying lengths of maceration, country of origin, variety, and the wine maker. My palate was taken by the Ribolla 2010 from Josko Gravner, Solo 2015 from Paolo Vodopivec and the macerated Gewürztraminer from the Alsatian project Les Vins Pirouettes, but the biggest surprise of the evening was the last wine, which country of origin we guessed blind. Our table was betting on Georgia, and we weren't very wrong, as Qvevri from Polish Winnica Płochockich is a unique wine fermented and aged in original Georgian amphoras.
